At times, the film looks like an ancient Chinese scroll that comes to life. The "Kung Fu Panda" formula works, still, and if directors Alessandro Carloni and Jennifer Yuh don't reinvent the panda-as-martial-artist wheel, they avoid making the story seem stale. It's the same story, slightly modified: Po (voice of Jack Black), the chubby panda and unlikely Dragon Warrior of legend, suffers crises of identity and confidence and must find the inner strength to overcome another villain. If you've seen any of the "Kung Fu Panda" movies, nothing in "Kung Fu Panda 3" will come as a surprise.
